The State Inspectorate has confirmed to Dnevnik Nove TV that an investigation is underway into continued illegal construction at OPG Kerum. Following allegations that Kerum and his nephew successfully legalized buildings that did not previously exist through officials, entrepreneur Pršut further expanded the structures without permits. Recall that today, Željko Kerum is being allowed to defend himself freely, while his nephew Igor Sapunar has been placed under a one-month detention. The deputy director of the USKOK, Natalija Petković, stated that the investigator of the County Court in Split proposed investigative detention against one accused due to the risk of influencing witnesses, which was accepted by the court. Igor Sapunar’s attorney, Damir Primorac, questioned whether there is a basis for the detention, noting that the accused could have influenced witnesses before arrest rather than now, and suggested less severe measures such as restricting contact with witnesses.
