The Municipality of Čavle is inviting proposals for Small Municipal Actions

The municipality of Čavle has launched a call for proposals under its annual initiative known as “Small Community Actions,” aimed at improving public infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for residents. The project invites all interested parties to submit their ideas for implementation within the municipal area during the coming year. These actions focus on community-driven improvements such as the maintenance and enhancement of parks, playgrounds, sports fields, public green spaces, installation of protective fences and barriers, construction of retaining walls, pedestrian paths, steps, lighting, and communal equipment like benches and waste bins. The initiative specifically excludes work on private property and does not include large-scale projects requiring detailed planning and building permits, such as constructing new halls, asphalt roads, or water supply networks. According to the municipality, these exclusions ensure that the program remains focused on smaller, localized improvements that can be executed efficiently within existing resources and regulations. Residents and local organizations are encouraged to submit up to three proposals each through a completed application form. Submissions must be received by September 30 of this year either in person at the municipal office located at Čavja 31, 51219 Čavle, or via postal mail or email to [email protected]. The proposals will be reviewed by the Committee for Economic Development, Entrepreneurship, Urban Planning, and Spatial Organization of the Municipality of Čavle. All submitted proposals will be considered, and selected ones will be incorporated into the preparation of the municipality’s budget for 2027. This initiative follows similar calls made by the municipality in previous years, reflecting a consistent effort to involve the community in shaping the physical environment and public services. By allowing residents to propose specific improvements, the municipality aims to address local needs more directly and foster a sense of shared responsibility for maintaining communal areas. The scope of eligible activities includes a wide range of enhancements designed to improve accessibility, safety, and aesthetics in public spaces. For instance, proposals could involve repairing damaged pathways, installing additional street lighting in poorly lit areas, or adding recreational facilities to underused open spaces. Each proposal must clearly define the location, nature of the improvement, and estimated cost to facilitate evaluation by the committee. The deadline for submissions ensures ample time for individuals and groups to prepare and refine their ideas before the review process begins. This structured approach allows the committee to assess the feasibility and impact of each proposal systematically. Once evaluated, the chosen initiatives will be integrated into the municipal budget, ensuring they receive necessary funding and prioritization in the upcoming fiscal year.
