Omni HR Launches Native MCP Integration, Connecting AI Assistants to Live HR Data

Omni HR, an AI-native HR and payroll platform based in Asia, has launched a native MCP integration that allows AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor to interact with live HR data within the Omni system. This integration ensures that AI actions are restricted to the user’s existing permissions, maintaining strict access control without storing any additional data at the connector level. The feature builds upon Omni’s earlier release of Mino, an AI agent designed to operate within the platform. According to Omni’s 'State of AI in HR' report, many HR leaders lack confidence in AI outputs due to inconsistent data, but the integration addresses this by providing a centralized, real-time data source. The MCP integration enables teams to query HR data directly through their preferred AI tools, allowing actions like checking leave schedules or updating employee profiles without leaving the current system.

Omni HR has launched a new integration called MCP, which allows AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor to connect directly to live HR data within the platform. This feature enables these AI tools to perform actions based on real-time information while maintaining strict access controls aligned with each user’s permissions. The integration is available in early access for Omni HR customers, and interested parties can request a demonstration at omnihr.co/demo. The MCP integration builds upon Omni HR’s earlier release of Mino, an AI agent designed to operate within the platform. Launched in June 2026, Mino was intended to bring artificial intelligence directly into Omni’s ecosystem. Now, with the MCP integration, the company is extending that capability beyond its internal system. By allowing AI assistants used outside of Omni to access the platform’s unified data layer, the integration eliminates the need for teams to switch between systems or manually transfer data. Users can now query specific HR functions, such as checking leave status, running headcounts, or updating employee profiles, all through their existing AI tools. According to Omni HR’s latest report on AI in HR, only 21% of HR leaders in Singapore and the Philippines currently trust AI-generated insights enough to act on them without further verification. This lack of confidence stems largely from inconsistencies and fragmentation in HR data. Omni HR claims that its centralized, real-time data system provides a reliable foundation for AI tools to work with. As a result, users can have greater confidence in the accuracy of responses generated by the AI assistants they already rely on daily. The integration spans Omni HR’s core modules, including employee records, lifecycle management, and time-off tracking. It supports current functionalities and will continue to expand as more tools become available. The system ensures that access controls remain intact throughout the process, meaning that the AI does not gain broader visibility into organizational data than the individual user. This approach aligns with the company’s stated philosophy that access restrictions must accompany data wherever it travels. Brian Ip, CEO of Omni HR, emphasized the significance of this development. He noted that Mino introduced AI into the Omni platform, while the MCP integration brings Omni’s data into the AI tools that teams are already utilizing. “What makes both of them different,” he explained, “is that your access controls travel with the data. The AI doesn’t get a bigger view of your business than the person operating it, and we think that’s the standard the whole industry should be held to.” The MCP integration is currently in early access, offering Omni HR customers a chance to test the functionality before wider deployment. As the integration matures, it is expected to enhance productivity by reducing manual tasks and improving decision-making through accurate, up-to-date information. For organizations relying on multiple AI tools, this development represents a major step toward streamlining HR processes and ensuring secure, efficient data handling.
