The suspect, identified as Danijel Trninić, 43, has a criminal history including convictions in Bosnia and Herzegovina for drug trafficking and possession of explosives and an automatic weapon. He previously served part of his sentence in Bosnia and Herzegovina before completing the remainder in Lepoglava. Local mayor Ljerka Cividini condemned the violence and assured residents of continued safety. Authorities are conducting an extensive search, considering the possibility that the suspect may have fled Croatia, potentially into Bosnia and Herzegovina.
