Elijah Zion Bieniemy, 27, son of assistant coach Eric Bieniemy, was arrested and charged with shooting his mother, Mia Bieniemy, in Ashburn, Virginia. According to local authorities, police received a call late Sunday evening regarding a shooting at the family home, which they confirmed was located in Ashburn, a town where the Bieniemy family once lived during Eric's tenure with the Washington Commanders. Upon arrival, officers found Mia with multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to a hospital, and her condition is currently stable, according to the latest reports. Elijah Zion Bieniemy was taken into custody early Monday morning and faces several serious charges, including aggravated assault, discharging a firearm during the commission of a felony, and firing a weapon inside a residence. Eric Bieniemy did not attend training sessions with the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday due to the situation involving his family.
