NRK: Ending cooperation

After 13 years of collaboration, the partnership between Gjert Ingebrigtsen (60) and Narve Gilje Nordås (27) has ended. According to Erlend Slokvik, head of sports at the Norwegian Athletics Federation, Ingebrigtsen has decided to step down as coach. The news was first reported by TV 2, which noted that Ingebrigtsen had been uncertain about his future as a trainer for some time and faced conflicts with the federation that affected his motivation. Slokvik stated that both parties have reached a mutual understanding to end the collaboration, with the focus now on supporting Nordås moving forward. Neither Ingebrigtsen nor Nordås has commented publicly on the matter. Ingebrigtsen also previously coached international athletes including Portuguese José Carlos Pinto, Canadian Kieran Lumb, and French Maël Gouyette, all part of the group Viking Athletics, whose training page was recently deleted.
