Night Play, Kyss: MHA warns malicious Android apps, porn being used to steal money

The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), under the Union home ministry, has issued a warning about malicious Android applications disguised as pornography apps that are being used by cybercriminals to steal money. These apps, named 'Night Play', 'Kyss', 'Reloop', 'Vimo', 'Rivo', 'Nexo', and 'Vixa', are promoted via social media ads that direct users to download APK files from outside the Google Play Store. Once installed, these apps request sensitive permissions like Accessibility access, allowing attackers to control the device, read screen content, and perform unauthorized financial transactions. The apps may also install additional malware, block uninstallation, and route internet traffic through attacker-controlled servers. I4C advises users to install apps only from trusted sources, avoid granting unnecessary permissions, and monitor financial activities closely.
