Sunday in Majšperk will bring together sport, tradition and music

On Sunday, August 30, the town of Majšperk will host a vibrant celebration of sport, tradition, and music, offering a diverse programme designed to appeal to a wide range of interests. The festivities will culminate with a concert by the renowned artist Tonij Brinjovč, set against the scenic backdrop of Ptujska Gori. The day’s activities begin early, with a traditional shooting competition taking place at the LD Stoperce shooting range starting at 9:00 AM. This event combines clay pigeon shooting with the pursuit of a running quail, organized by the Hunting Club Stoperce. Participants can expect a challenging yet rewarding experience rooted in local traditions. At 10:00 AM, motorcyclists and motorbike enthusiasts will take part in a panoramic ride along the roads leading to KPC Majšperk. The ride, led by the Motorcycle Club Vitezi Mannsperg, will feature motorcycles with engines exceeding 125 cubic centimeters. After the journey, riders will be invited to a barbecue lunch at the Slape 23 A motor park, providing a chance to socialize and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow participants. As the afternoon unfolds, visitors can look forward to a more relaxed setting at Preši, where a tea party featuring honey and a mushroom exhibition will take place at 2:30 PM. These displays, curated by the Beekeeping Society Majšperk and the Sports Hiking Club Preša, offer insights into the region's beekeeping and mushroom gathering traditions. The event promises to be a pleasant opportunity for both locals and tourists to engage with these cultural practices. Later, at 4:00 PM, the sports programme continues with a table tennis tournament held at the fire station of the PGD Majšperk-Breg on Breg. Organized by the Sports Club Breg, this event provides a fun and competitive environment for players of all skill levels. The highlight of the day will be the concert by Tonij Brinjovč, scheduled for 5:00 PM at the square of Ptujska Gori. Entitled “Glasba je življenje,” the performance will be organized by the Tourism Association of Ptujska Gora. Attendees will have the option to contribute voluntary donations, supporting local initiatives. In case of adverse weather conditions, the concert will be relocated to the Basilica on Ptujska Gori, ensuring that the event proceeds smoothly regardless of external factors. Throughout the day, the event offers a blend of physical activity, cultural engagement, and entertainment, reflecting the rich heritage and community spirit of Majšperk.
