Natasha Pirc Musar on the day of magic emphasized the importance of kindness

President of the Republic of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar emphasized the importance of goodness during the 17th Magic Day opening ceremony held today at Arboretum Volčji Potok. The event brought together families, entertainment, and charitable activities. Speaking at the occasion, President Pirc Musar highlighted that true magic begins with kindness, shared moments, and willingness to help others. According to her office, she expressed these sentiments while addressing attendees. “Magic happens when families temporarily step away from daily worries and simply enjoy each other’s company. When children laugh, explore, dance, and discover the world. And especially when the joy of one becomes an opportunity to help another,” President Pirc Musar stated during the event. The annual Magic Day this year aims to support the Slovenian Special Olympics. During discussions with organizers, the president underscored the significance of sports, which brings self-confidence, friendship, perseverance, and the chance for everyone to demonstrate their abilities. “At the Special Olympics, limitations are not important, capabilities, courage, and happiness are,” she reminded them. Throughout the event, the president interacted with visitors, children, youth, and families, walking through exhibition spaces and performance areas. She concluded her remarks with a call to action: “Do good. Believe me, when you do good, you help those who need assistance. But also, those who do good experience a very, very good feeling.” The Magic Day featured a charity initiative organized by the Slovenian Lions Club Association called “Dejanje za specialno olimpiado.” The collected funds will go to the Special Olympics Society to prepare Slovenian athletes for the international Special Olympics in Santiago, Chile, set to take place for the first time there in 2027. Organizers explained that the donations will enable high-quality regular training sessions, sport-specific preparations, and the purchase of sports equipment and gear. The event served as a platform for community engagement, combining celebration with a purpose-driven message. Attendees were encouraged to participate in both the festivities and the charitable efforts, reinforcing the connection between joy and generosity. As the day unfolded, the atmosphere reflected a blend of festivity and altruism, aligning with the core values of the Magic Day tradition.
