Attack on a gas station in Germany: rockets with explosives found

A power station transformer substation near the coal-fired power plant Jänschwalde in southern Brandenburg was targeted in an attack on Tuesday, according to security sources confirmed to the German newspaper Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung (MAZ). Emergency services discovered several rockets equipped with explosives near the critical facility and deactivated them. The media reports that the substation was attacked multiple times, with damage detected on the transmission lines. MAZ has access to a photo of one of the devices, which appears to have an unclear, likely improvised origin. There is suspicion that the attack aimed to cause a power outage at the nearby coal-fired power plant, but this did not occur. Network operator 50Hertz reported that all lines were back in service and the electricity supply was not compromised. They stated that unknown perpetrators allegedly damaged several cables in the transmission network, causing a short service interruption. The operator announced cooperation with security authorities to investigate the incident's background. A spokeswoman for 50Hertz urged citizens to exercise special caution and report any suspicious persons or incidents to the警方.
