Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella has requested U.S. President Donald Trump to temporarily suspend tariffs on Colombian goods following devastating earthquake damage in his country. The request comes after the United States raised import duties on Colombian goods, excluding certain exceptions, from 10 percent to 12.5 percent earlier this July.
