After the dinosaur theft, there's a burglar alarm at Benko's villa again.

A second break-in has been reported at the former residence of René Benko, founder of the Signa Group, in Igls, Innsbruck. The incident occurred on Saturday, according to local media reports, though no items were taken during the intrusion. The Tyrolean police confirmed on Sunday, in response to an inquiry from the Austrian Press Agency (APA), that a break-in had taken place at a villa, though they did not specify further details. The property, once a luxury home, is currently unoccupied and stands on a plot of nearly 6,000 square meters. It belongs to the Laura Privatstiftung, a foundation established by Benko, which is currently undergoing insolvency proceedings. The building was previously known for its high security measures, having successfully repelled attempted intrusions in July. At that time, thieves managed to steal a large dinosaur sculpture weighing several hundred kilograms, created by artist Philippe Pasqua, from the garden. This latest incident follows the earlier attempt in July, during which would-be burglars were thwarted by the house's security systems. Despite their failure, the theft of the Dinosaurier-Skulptur highlighted the vulnerability of the estate’s outdoor areas.
