COA 38-year-old woman from Antioquia, Colombia, named Mónica Núñez Marín, was reported missing in Mexico after last contacting her family on July 5th. She had traveled to Mexico over a year ago seeking work opportunities. According to her family, she was visiting a friend in Mexico City before taking a ride-hailing vehicle. She later spoke to a relative in Spain via video call, during which the relative claimed to have seen her with three men in a car. Shortly afterward, Núñez posted a message on social media asking others to care for her daughter if anything happened to her. After ten days of being missing, her body was found in an automobile accident near kilometer 83 in Tepeji del Río. The incident involved a Nissan Tsuru, where Núñez and three other people were traveling. The driver lost control, causing a collision that resulted in Núñez’s death and serious injuries to two other passengers. Her family now seeks funds to repatriate her remains.
