MTN Nigeria’s independent director, Kola-Oyeneyin, to exit board

MTN Nigeria Communications Plc has announced that Eyitope Kola-Oyeneyin, an Independent Non-Executive Director on its board, will exit the board effective 31 August 2024. The announcement was made via a statement filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), signed by the company’s secretary, Uto Ukpanah. The reason for her departure was not specified in the regulatory filing. Kola-Oyeneyin joined the board in December 2024 and had previously served as Chairperson of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC). She is recognized for her expertise in digital transformation, fintech, and financial inclusion initiatives such as Cashless Lagos and the Shared Agent Network Expansion Facilities (SANEF) program. Her career includes roles at First Bank and McKinsey, with international experience across Africa.
