Mother wakes up to find man 'sexually assaulting her beside her four-year-old daughter' during flight to Thailand

A Thai woman claims she discovered a man sexually assaulting her during a flight to Bangkok while she was asleep with her four-year-old daughter beside her. The incident reportedly occurred aboard a flight operated by Flydubai, which departed from Dubai and arrived at Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok on Thursday. The victim, identified as Beaut Pimpaporn, 33, described waking to find herself being touched inappropriately by a male passenger seated nearby. Pimpaporn had traveled from Milan, Italy, via Dubai on a connecting flight to Bangkok. While resting with her daughter on her lap, she awoke to find the man engaged in a sexual act against her. According to her account, the man, identified as Raza Ali, 30, pretended to adjust the entertainment system in front of her seat while making repeated eye contact with her. She chose not to cause alarm during the flight and instead waited until arrival in Bangkok to report the incident to the cabin crew. Upon landing, the airline staff contacted local authorities, and Raza Ali was detained by tourist police and immigration officers at the airport. He initially denied the allegations but later admitted to the act, according to Pimpaporn. His companions reportedly attempted to mediate the situation, begging for forgiveness on his behalf. However, the flight attendants refused their intervention, stating the matter required police involvement. Pimpaporn recounted how the flight attendant questioned Raza Ali in Arabic, a language she does not understand, but confirmed the nature of the accusation. After the man’s admission, he approached her, apologized profusely, and knelt before her. Despite his remorse, the flight attendant insisted that police must be involved. The airline removed Pimpaporn's daughter from the scene, ensuring she did not witness the confrontation. Lieutenant Colonel Chamnanyut Konkong of the Don Mueang district police station stated that authorities planned to conduct a mediation session between Pimpaporn and Raza Ali as part of the standard investigative process. He noted that Raza Ali had been denied entry into Thailand and that Pimpaporn would be interviewed later in the day. The investigation is still in its early stages, and no formal charges have been filed yet. Pimpaporn expressed her intention to pursue legal action against Raza Ali and seek compensation for the trauma she endured. She emphasized the vulnerability of women traveling alone, particularly during long flights when passengers tend to sleep. Even though she was accompanied by her daughter, she acknowledged the potential dangers faced by solo travelers who might hesitate to report such incidents due to fear or embarrassment. She urged other women to speak out if they encounter similar situations and not to feel ashamed for seeking help. Her decision to share her experience stems from a desire to prevent others from suffering the same ordeal. “I want other women to know that they should not feel embarrassed,” she said. “If something feels wrong, they should report it and ask for help.” Raza Ali is believed to have been traveling with a Pakistani tour group. His companions included several individuals from the same group, who reportedly intervened after the incident. The group consisted of approximately four to five people, although it is possible more members were present given their travel arrangement. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding Raza Ali’s visa status or previous criminal record. The case highlights concerns over personal safety during international travel and the need for greater awareness among passengers about how to respond to such situations.
