The 21st edition of the CineOP – Mostra de Cinema de Ouro Preto has solidified its role as Brazil's main platform for discussions on the preservation of audiovisual heritage, education, and public policies related to the audiovisual sector. The event brings together researchers, filmmakers, teachers, students, archivists, and cultural managers through a program that includes film screenings, national meetings, workshops, and discussions on the future of audiovisual preservation in Brazil. One major announcement was the potential creation of a Center for Reference in Audiovisual Preservation at the Federal Institute of Rio de Janeiro (IFRJ), in partnership with the Technical Audiovisual Center (CTAv).
