More than 100,000 fireworks recalled ahead of July 4

Federal safety regulators have recalled more than 100,000 fireworks ahead of the July 4 holiday due to potential safety hazards. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) cited Winco Fireworks International for two products: the 'Unity 7 Shot' aerial cake fireworks, which can tip over and cause explosions or burns, and the 'Roman Candles 8 Shot 3-Pack' firework devices, which can blow out their tubes and lead to burn injuries. Over 87,000 units of the Unity model and 13,500 units of the Roman Candles model are involved in the recall. Consumers are advised to return the items to purchase locations for refunds. No injuries have been reported yet. The American Pyrotechnics Association noted that consumer fireworks generated around $2.2 billion in revenue in 2025, with potential growth as the U.S. celebrates its 250th anniversary.
