A 26-year-old Slovenian motorcyclist was seriously injured in a traffic accident that occurred between Gerovski Kraj and Crni Lug around 3:20 PM on Friday. According to police information, the man was driving at an inappropriate speed and did not stay in the marked traffic lane but drove too far to the right, causing him to lose control and fall off the road into a ravine approximately 20 meters deep. Eight firefighters from Gerovo arrived at the scene by 4:06 PM and worked alongside emergency medical staff to rescue the man from the ravine using stretchers and bring him back to the road. One firefighter team secured the area for a medical helicopter to land, while another remained at the accident site to retrieve the motorcycle from the ravine. The operation concluded at 5:20 PM, and the injured man was transported to the KBC Rijeka hospital, where doctors confirmed he sustained serious injuries.
