The Czech Ministry has launched support for water infrastructure modernization, allocating up to 1.3 billion crowns. The initiative focuses on upgrading wastewater treatment plants serving at least 10,000 equivalent inhabitants, aiming to improve water quality by effectively removing nitrogen and phosphorus. By 2029, approximately 238,000 residents' wastewater treatment capacities are expected to be modernized. The funding comes in the form of favorable loans, covering up to 70% of eligible costs per project, with interest rates set at 1% annually and repayment periods up to 10 years. Recipients include public entities such as municipalities and private companies managing public water systems. Projects must be completed within the Czech Republic by December 31, 2030.
