MFE accelerates transformation: new governance, Mediaset-RTI merger and a more streamlined structure to meet the European challenge

MFE-MediaForEurope has launched a major restructuring initiative aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and accelerating its international integration strategy. The group, led by Pier Silvio Berlusconi, announced a comprehensive organizational overhaul affecting both the holding company and Mediaset. This move marks the beginning of a process leading to the creation of "Mediaset Italia." The plan was unveiled following public strategic guidelines issued on July 8 and is now officially in effect. The restructuring involves simplifying the corporate structure with clearly defined responsibilities and a shorter decision-making chain. According to official statements, the goal is to make the multinational model more effective, enabling faster execution of industrial strategies and synergies among different companies. The objective is to improve responsiveness within a rapidly evolving competitive environment. A key aspect of this transformation is the initiation of procedures for the merger of Mediaset into R.T.I., which will result in the formation of "Mediaset Italia." This new entity represents a broader effort to streamline the group's operations. The initiative complements internal organizational changes designed to support growth and facilitate quicker implementation of strategic decisions. Berlusconi emphasized the progress made in the international integration path, particularly highlighting experiences in Germany. He noted that a team of Italian and German professionals has achieved more than initially anticipated. However, he acknowledged the changing competitive landscape, stating that the European advertising market remains challenging. He stressed the need for continued acceleration due to intense competition from new platforms and the relatively small size of the group despite growth. The new organization aims to translate strategy into tangible results through streamlined management and leveraging internal expertise. Berlusconi highlighted the importance of a clear command structure, well-defined roles, and a focus on developing internal resources and talents.
