They point to Japan, where air conditioning is ubiquitous and buildings are designed to withstand extreme temperatures, as a model worth studying. Yet, despite growing awareness of the issue, the path forward remains complex, involving not only changes in policy but also significant investment in retrofitting existing housing stock and updating infrastructure to meet modern climatic demands.
