The Italian car market continues to grow in August, with registrations up by 3.2%

The Italian automotive market recorded a 3.2% increase in new vehicle registrations in August compared to the same period in 2025, totaling 69,411 units. The cumulative total for January-August reached 1,131,901 units, marking an 8.6% growth. Hybrid vehicles (both mild and full hybrids) accounted for nearly half of monthly registrations, reaching 32,670 units (47.02%) in August, up by 7.95%. Plug-in hybrids saw significant growth, increasing by 69.93% to 8,199 units in August, while electric vehicles grew by 34% to 4,406 units. Traditional fuel vehicles, including gasoline and diesel, experienced declines, with gasoline down 16.07% and diesel down 29.55%. Private buyers remained dominant, accounting for 54.85% of sales, while corporate channels faced continued decline. Rental and dealership sectors showed positive trends.
