Over 200 illegal immigrants were apprehended over the weekend.

During the weekend, police in the area of Novo Mesto detained 242 undocumented migrants. Of these, 159 were apprehended in the Brežice region, and 83 in the Črnomlje region. In Brežice, authorities identified 41 citizens from Bangladesh, 32 from Pakistan, 31 from Afghanistan, 14 from Egypt, seven from Iraq, five from Sudan, five from Morocco, four from Nepal, four from India, four from Palestine, three from China, three from Turkey, two from Iran, two from Algeria, one from Somalia, and one from Yemen. In Črnomlje, they detained 25 Afghan citizens, 24 Pakistani citizens, 14 Bangladeshi citizens, nine Sudanese citizens, five Ghanaian citizens, two Indian citizens, and one citizen each from Sierra Leone, Morocco, India, and Nepal. Legal proceedings against these undocumented individuals who crossed the national border without permission are ongoing.
