The Maribor School, which attracts children from all over the world, invites you to enrol: for the first time, something new for the youngest

The International School in Maribor, operating within the framework of the Primary School Leona Štuklja Maribor, is inviting students for the upcoming school year 2026/2027. In its third year of operation, the school successfully obtained accreditation for the Middle Years Programme (MYP) by the International Baccalaureate (IB), joining over 6,000 IB World Schools globally. The school attracts students from various countries, including India, Ukraine, Hungary, Germany, Russia, Bulgaria, the United States, Italy, and Slovenia, enriching the educational environment with cultural diversity. Mariborska mednarodna šola, ki deluje v okviru Osnovne šole Leona Štuklja, vabi k vpisu v šolsko leto 2026/2027. To bo šolsko leto, v katerem bo šola prvič odprla tudi mednarodni vrtec Early Years, ki bo deloval v prostorih Vrtca Otona Župančiča na Oblakovi ulici 5. Učenci, ki so se v prihodnjem šolskem letu prijavili v mednarodno šolo, bodo imeli možnost začeti svoje izobraževanje v vrtečevski skupini, kar bo omogočilo gladek prehod v prvi razred programa Primary Years Programme (PYP).

Šola je v preteklem šolskem letu uspelo pridobiti akreditacijo za izvajanje programa Middle Years Programme (MYP) organizacije International Baccalaureate (IB). S tem se je pridružila več kot 6.000 drugim šolam po svetu, ki izvajajo isti program. Akreditacija je pomembna potrditev kakovosti šolskega programa in prilagodljivosti učnega procesa standardom mednarodnega izobraževanja. V šoli so poudarili, da so odzivi učencev in njihovih staršev potrdili, da so učenci in njihovi roditelji zadovoljni s programom, ki ga ponujajo.

Učenci iz različnih držav, med njimi iz Indije, Ukrajine, Madžarske, Nemčije, Rusije, Bolgarije, ZDA, Italije in Slovenije, so v preteklem šolskem letu udeleževali v številnih dejavnostih, ki so dopolnjevale šolski program. Med drugim so obiskali naravoslovno šolo v naravi, raziskovali različne dele Slovenije, obiskali čokoladnico Zotter v Avstriji, Center Noordung in sodelovali na dogodku "Noč v muzeju". Takšne aktivnosti so dopolnjevale šolsko učenje in razvijale pri učencih kritično mišljenje, samostojnost in sodelovanje.

Program PYP omogoča učencem učenje treh jezikov, razvoj digitalnih kompetenc in učenje skozi transdisciplinarne globalne teme. Program MYP pa vključuje gledališče, globalne kontekste in reševanje praktičnih izzivov. Vodja mednarodne šole, Natalija Anders, je poudarila, da so pozitivni odzivi staršev in učencev potrditev kakovostnega mednarodnega učnega okolja. Pridobitev akreditacije MYP je po njenih besedah pomembno priznanje za delo šole. V prihodnjem šolskem letu bodo šola in vrtec prvič odprli svoje vrata, kar bo še dodatno okrepilo mednarodno izobraževalno ponudbo v regiji.

Starši so pomemben del šolske skupnosti, saj so vključeni v različne delavnice, dogodke in soustvarjanje šolskih vsebin. Med najbolj prepoznavnimi dogodki so Portfolio Nights, kjer učenci predstavljajo svoj napredek, dnevi odprtih vrat, socialno-čustvene delavnice in kulinarični dnevi. Vodja Urada za vzgojo in izobraževanje, Brigita Gajzer Pliberšek, je poudarila, da mednarodna šola iz leta v leto krepi svojo vlogo v regiji. Pridobitev akreditacije MYP in odprtje mednarodnega vrtca sta po njenih besedah pomembno okrepila mednarodno izobraževalno ponudbo severovzhodne Slovenije ter tujim družinam omogočila kakovostno mednarodno priznano izobraževanje.

Kakovostno učno okolje dopolnjuje tudi sodobna športna infrastruktura. Mestna občina Maribor je leta 2025 ob Osnovni šoli Leona Štuklja uredila novo večnamensko zunanje športno igrišče, ki ga uporabljajo učenci osnovne in mednarodne šole, namenjeno pa je tudi rekreaciji prebivalcev mestne četrti. V prihodnjem šolskem letu bodo na Osnovni šoli Leona Štuklja izvajali drugi, tretji, četrti in peti razred programa PYP, vpis v mednarodno šolo in vrtec pa že poteka. Ena največjih prednosti vpisa v mednarodno vrtčevsko skupino je enostaven prehod v prvi razred programa PYP, ki bo omogočil občutek varnosti, kontinuiteto učenja in razvoj v znanem okolju.
