Lockheed Martin and Rheinmetall to start production of ATACMS missiles in Europe

The American defense contractor Lockheed Martin and the German defense group Rheinmetall have signed a memorandum to establish joint production of long-range ATACMS missiles in Europe. This agreement, supported by the governments of the United States and Germany, marks a step toward creating a European center for advanced missile manufacturing, integration, and distribution for NATO forces and European allies. Additionally, the U.S., Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and Sweden have agreed to create a shared technical support center for PAC-3 missiles used in Patriot air defense systems.
