Preparation works are expected to start this autumn, while main construction is scheduled for spring 2027. The contract, valued at around €144.2 million before taxes, involves widening the motorway, improving safety features, and upgrading existing infrastructure. The project aims to enhance traffic flow and road safety across Slovenia’s motorway network. Similar large-scale maintenance and expansion projects are ongoing on other motorways, including the Vipava expressway and the Štajerska motorway approach to Ljubljana.

Slovenske noviceIndependentCenterFactual 88Objective 825 days ago Traffic collapse: Extremely long column recorded on the waterfront, stops elsewhereTraffic congestion has significantly increased across Slovenia, particularly on the Primorska motorway, where a queue stretching over 21 kilometers has formed due to heavy tourist traffic and lane restrictions at the Postojna junction. The delays affect both directions of travel, with drivers facing additional travel time between Postojna and Vrhnika. Similar issues are reported on other major routes such as the Štajerska motorway near Dramlje and the Šmarje–Koper road, where traffic is limited to single lanes in each direction. Additional bottlenecks are caused by construction work near the Ljubljana Šentjakob interchange, with closures expected to continue until 10 PM.

VečerIndependent🔒CenterFactual 85Objective 80yesterday The Ljubljana bypass is bursting at the seams, and the Ministry of Infrastructure feels that a new ring is unnecessary. The article discusses the growing traffic congestion on Ljubljana's ring road and the debate over whether a new bypass is necessary. It highlights concerns from drivers about the difficulty of navigating the current infrastructure during peak hours, citing an incident where traveling a single kilometer took an hour. The article references ideas for expanding the existing motorway ring and improving connections, such as widening the western and southern parts into six-lane highways, reconfiguring the eastern section with ten lanes, and reducing congestion on the northern part by connecting the Styrian and Upper Carniolan motorway junctions. The Ministry of Infrastructure has stated that they believe expanding the current ring road and improving entry points would suffice, rather than building a completely new one. The article also mentions ongoing construction projects, including the expansion of the Koseze–Kozarje section into a six-lane highway and the completion of the Šentvid–Koseze connection.
Bias read (Center): The article presents a balanced discussion between the need for infrastructure improvements and the Ministry of Infrastructure’s stance against a new bypass.
