ExpoRural 26 will have a full agenda of training and business

The 26th edition of ExpoRural, organized by the Argentine Society of Rural Affairs (SRA) and La Rural S.A., will open its doors to the public on Thursday, July 21, under the theme “El campo nos une,” and will run until July 26. The event, held in Palermo, will feature a comprehensive schedule of training sessions, business opportunities, and agricultural showcases. With over 2,580 animals registered, representing a 10% increase compared to the previous edition and spanning more than a hundred breeds, the exhibition promises to be one of the most significant agro-industrial events in Argentina. Among the highlights is the return of poultry to the exposition after four years due to health concerns, alongside the hosting of the First World Congress of Hampshire Down, which will bring together breeders from around the globe. Forty livestock auctions will take place throughout the event, accessible via live television and streaming. The official opening ceremony will occur on Sunday, July 26, with President Javier Milei scheduled to attend. Organizers emphasized that the event will blend genetic exhibitions, technology, commerce, and public activities, reinforcing its status as a key fixture in the country’s agricultural calendar. Nicolás Pino, president of the SRA, highlighted during a press conference that agriculture is the most competitive and productive sector of the nation and must remain connected to all other areas. The event will include the “Centro de Negocios del Agro,” offering international rounds of genetics, cattle contests, and a new initiative: the “Centro de Financiamiento del Agro,” where financial institutions will assist farmers nationwide in accessing credit. Additionally, the automotive industry will showcase its products through off-road demonstrations, while academic workshops and colloquies will be hosted by the SRA, Misiones Rurales Argentinas, and the Interreligious Encounter. Throughout the days, historical military bands will perform daily at the Plaza del Bicentenario, culminating in a carousel followed by a presentation of Argentine Equestrian Art, blending history, tradition, and skill. The event will close with a benefit auction supporting the Soldier Foundation. In terms of livestock associations, the Argentine Angus Association has confirmed its participation with 500 registered animals from 140 exhibitors, positioning itself as a central player in the event. Over eleven days, the association will host educational programs, including the 38th Angus Judge and Production Base School, running from July 13 to 18, ending with practical and theoretical exams for participants. On July 20, the Angus Judge Contest will take place, bringing young talent from across the country to test their knowledge in breeding selection and evaluation. The day will also feature the Pedro Noel Irey Auction and the award ceremony for the judge contest winners. The event will continue with major commercial auctions, including those organized by Alfredo S. Mondino, Gananor Pujol, Sáenz Valiente Bullrich, and Jáuregui Lorda. One of the most anticipated moments will occur between July 22 and 24, featuring the traditional “juradas” of champions, the selection of the Grand Champion Female of the Angus breed, and the announcement of the champion bulls.
