KTR calls for State-wide protests from September 2 on ‘govt. failures’

KTR has announced plans for state-wide protests beginning on September 2, aimed at exposing what he describes as the "betrayal" of the Congress government. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will organize a week-long campaign across Telangana, focusing on the alleged failure of the ruling party to fulfill its promises. During a teleconference on Sunday, K.T. Rama Rao, the BRS working president, instructed senior party leaders, elected representatives, and the state committee to bring attention to these issues throughout the state. The campaign is set to begin on September 2 and will span seven days. It aims to highlight the perceived shortcomings of the Congress government, which has been in power for over 1,000 days. KTR accused the party of failing to deliver on numerous pledges made during its campaign, including 420 vows, 13 declarations, and six guarantees. According to him, these commitments were meant to be fulfilled within 100 days, yet none have been realized even after a decade in office. During the teleconference, KTR emphasized that the programs should go beyond simply listing unfulfilled promises. They must also address the current challenges faced by various societal groups. He specifically mentioned the issue of delayed fee reimbursements, noting that the government has failed to clear over ₹12,000 crore in outstanding payments. This, he argued, affects students and their families directly. He referenced previous efforts by BRS, such as meetings in Saroornagar and the Yuva Sangrama Sadassu, which focused on addressing concerns related to youth welfare. In addition to highlighting governmental failures, KTR proposed that the campaign include targeted outreach to different communities. Party leaders are expected to engage with women, farmers, youth, students, Dalits, BCs, tribals, and others across constituencies. Each group will receive specific attention, with tailored programs designed to reflect their unique grievances and aspirations.
