A 21-year-old man from Kozhikode, Kerala, has reported being abducted, confined, and blackmailed by a six-person gang during a trip to Bengaluru. According to the complaint, the group allegedly recorded private videos of him and demanded ₹8 lakh, threatening to share the footage if he did not comply. The victim claims he was taken against his will to an isolated location, held there for a week, and then released after escaping. The Chevayur police have initiated an investigation with the help of the cyber cell, examining digital evidence such as mobile phone records to identify the suspects. Police sources indicate that all the accused are believed to be from Kozhikode district, and the motive for the alleged crime is under preliminary inquiry.
