Koinè, the restaurant made with the stories of migrants

A restaurant named 'Koiné Hostaria' has been opened within an Extraordinary Accommodation Center managed by migrants in Arcinazzo, at the border between Frosinone and Rome provinces. The initiative aims to create unique dishes blending different culinary traditions while promoting knowledge, skills, and autonomy among migrants. The project was developed by the center’s directors, Angela Ferri and Marco Macis, with the support of chef Alessandro Marsili and two cooks from the center. The restaurant serves as both a dining space and a platform for cultural exchange, challenging stereotypes about migrant centers by transforming them into spaces of intercultural dialogue. The name 'Koiné' refers to a common language that unites diverse cultures through communication, symbolized here by the harmony of flavors in the food served.
