Researchers at Heidelberg have developed an AI system called 'Hetairos' that can classify brain tumors using standard tissue slices much faster than traditional methods. The system was trained on over 11,000 tissue samples from patients across eleven medical centers on four continents. It can identify nearly all molecular tumor subtypes currently recognized by the World Health Organization.
