An online survey conducted by the polling agency OpinionWay in 2024 asked 35,000 people from 28 European countries which nation they find most attractive. The results show clear differences in preferences across Europe. Italians came out on top overall, being selected as the most attractive nation by respondents from several former Yugoslav states including Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Surprisingly, Spanish and Portuguese respondents did not choose any other European nation, with Spaniards favoring Argentinians and Portuguese choosing Brazilians. Swedish respondents showed a strong preference for their own country.
