In the first half of this year, Slovenians were among the most numerous visitors to Croatia, creating nearly three million overnight stays. Most of these stays occurred along the Adriatic coast, with 27.1 million overnight stays recorded there, while 2.4 million took place in the mainland part of the country. This represents an increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Croatian Tourism Board (HTZ). The largest number of overnight stays were created by tourists from Germany (5.6 million) and Slovenia (2.9 million), followed by Austria (2.5 million), Poland (1.6 million), the United Kingdom (1.4 million), the Czech Republic (1.1 million), and the U.S. (1 million). Croatians themselves generated 4.2 million tourist overnight stays. The most visited areas included Istria (8.7 million overnight stays), Split-Dalmatia (5.3 million), and Kvarner (4.7 million), with specific destinations like Dubrovnik, Rovinj, Poreč, Zagreb, and Split being particularly popular. The holidays and football took away more guests from Croatia in June than from us.

In June, Slovenia saw a slight increase in tourist visits compared to the previous year, with a 1.8% rise in visitors and a 1.5% increase in overnight stays. This growth followed a significant boost in early months of the season. In contrast, Croatia experienced a decline, with a 7% drop in tourist revenue and a 6% decrease in overnight stays compared to June of last year. Slovenian tourist destinations welcomed 810,000 guests, generating over two million overnight stays. The most visited areas were Gorenjska and central Slovenia, with foreign tourists making up the majority, particularly Germans and Austrians, though their numbers were slightly lower than in previous years.
