Just one in five women ‘feel in control and confident’ about personal finances

A survey conducted by insurance and wealth management advisers NFP reveals that only 21% of women in Ireland feel in control and confident about their personal finances, compared to 35% of men. The study highlights a gender gap in financial confidence, with women more likely to report stress, anxiety, and feelings of being financially overwhelmed. Financial concerns are widespread, with nearly half of female respondents stating they manage their finances but face ongoing worries. The survey also notes regional differences, with Dublin residents more likely to feel in control of their finances than those in Connacht and Ulster. Older individuals (over 55) showed greater financial confidence compared to younger adults aged 25–34.
