Italian authorities have arrested a 16-year-old minor from Bologna for possessing extremist materials linked to both white supremacist and jihadist ideologies. The arrest occurred in Verona, where local police conducted an investigation that began in the fall of 2025 with collaboration from Bologna law enforcement. According to the Verona Questura, the investigation focused on monitoring online platforms known for spreading extremist content. One particular user was identified for sharing violent guides involving heavy vehicles and methods to maintain anonymity online. This led to the discovery of the account belonging to the now-arrested teenager.
During the search of the minor’s home, police uncovered several handwritten documents featuring symbols and emblems related to white supremacy, along with a typed page detailing the construction of a homemade bulletproof vest. Analysis of the minor’s smartphone revealed extensive content of interest, including white supremacist and jihadist propaganda, manuals for creating homemade weapons, a guide for constructing a handgun, a translated text providing instructions on corrosive chemicals, and a manual for assembling explosive devices. Additionally, investigators found a complete recording of the 2019 Christchurch massacre, accompanied by messages praising the perpetrator as a role model.
The police also discovered plans to establish clandestine organizations within Italy, referencing the use of homemade weapons and violent actions targeted at influential figures such as judges and journalists. These findings highlight a convergence of white supremacist and jihadist ideologies, referred to by counterterrorism experts as “white jihad.” The minor remains in temporary detention in Ancona, under a two-month restriction on electronic device usage and internet access, following approval from local judicial authorities.
The arrest comes shortly after the capture of Zakaria Ben Haddi, a 21-year-old from Vimercate, who was arrested by the Milan Public Prosecutor’s office for promoting martyrdom and advocating for terrorist activities against the West and Christianity. His social media content suggested plans to execute a terrorist attack in Italy similar to the May 15 car-ramming attack in Modena, attributed to Salim El Koudri. These incidents underscore the growing threat posed by extremist ideologies in Italy, prompting increased vigilance and law enforcement efforts.
In a separate development, Peruvian police executed a unique arrest strategy by disguising two officers as World Cup mascots to apprehend a suspected drug dealer in Lima. Colonel Carlos Alcántara, head of the Green Squadron, explained that the suspect was a devoted football fan, making the disguise effective in approaching him without raising suspicion. During the operation, police discovered 2,524 packets of cocaine base and a firearm. The use of such creative tactics reflects the evolving strategies employed by law enforcement to combat drug trafficking effectively.
In the United States, a 59-year-old man was arrested on voyeurism charges after inappropriate images of adolescent girls and adult women were found on his work laptop. Charles Barton Lucas, an overseer at a Florida church, was arrested following a tip-off from an IT director at RoMac Building Supply. The investigation revealed that the images originated from hidden cameras installed in the church’s changing rooms and bathrooms. Although the cameras were no longer present upon inspection, Lucas was released on bail pending further investigation.
Furthermore, a mixed martial arts fighter, Dustin Lampros, played a pivotal role in arresting a suspected child predator in South Florida. Lampros uses decoys posing as children online to lure potential predators into public spaces, where he and his associates confront them and provide evidence to law enforcement. Recently, Lampros assisted in the arrest of Christian Walden, who allegedly planned to meet a 13-year-old boy for a sexual encounter. Walden was charged with traveling to meet a minor for an unlawful sex act and using a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.
In another incident, a Florida man was arrested after abandoning a child during a high-speed chase from deputies. Jason Kenon, who had multiple active warrants, fled from a traffic stop, crashed into another car, and left a four-year-old child behind. Video footage captured the chaotic sequence of events, showing Kenon fleeing barefoot while the child was left alone. Kenon faces multiple charges, including aggravated fleeing and eluding, child neglect, and reckless driving. His history includes a prior conviction for burglary and grand theft.
These varied cases illustrate the diverse challenges faced by law enforcement globally, ranging from combating extremist ideologies to addressing issues of child exploitation and criminal behavior. Each incident highlights the need for continuous adaptation and innovation in policing strategies to ensure public safety and uphold justice.
