An Italian hiker fell down a slope near Stanov Hill border and suffered severe injuries. The incident occurred around 9:40 AM, and due to the difficult terrain, the rescue operation took several hours. The hiker was accompanied by two friends but fell during the hike and lay injured. Rescue teams from the Mountain Rescue Service Ajdovščina and the Rapid Response Unit of the Civil Protection of the City of Nova Gorica arrived at the scene. Despite providing first aid, the hiker succumbed to his injuries. The body was later transported by helicopter from the difficult-to-reach area to Ajdovščina. According to the Police Department of Nova Gorica, there is no indication of foul play.
