Istanbul police arrest suspect over fake documents sent abroad

Istanbul police arrested a suspect involved in sending forged passports, identity cards, and driver's licenses abroad via cargo shipments as part of an investigation into migrant smuggling using counterfeit documents. Officers from the Anti-Migrant Smuggling and Border Gates Division conducted inspections at a cargo company’s international transfer center and discovered 12 packages containing 4 forged passports, 6 forged ID cards, and 9 forged driver's licenses. The suspect, identified as A.E.M., was detained while trying to deliver another shipment, during which additional forged items were found. The materials were seized as evidence, and A.E.M. was referred to judicial authorities on forgery charges and later arrested pending trial.
