Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon continue

Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday killed at least six people, including two children and a woman, with eight others wounded, according to multiple reports from local health authorities and media outlets. The attacks occurred in northern, central, and southern parts of the region, with the most severe incident taking place in the al-Kateeba neighborhood west of Gaza City. A medical source from Al Shifa Hospital confirmed the casualties and described the intensity of the assault, which lasted nearly 35 minutes and involved at least 13 drones. The attack in al-Kateeba saw three individuals killed, among them two children, while eight others sustained injuries. According to a medical official from Al Shifa Hospital, the drones operated at dangerously low altitudes during the assault. Al Jazeera correspondent Hani Mahmoud, stationed in Gaza City, stated he observed at least 13 drones in the sky during the attack, adding that the aerial activity created a highly chaotic environment. In a separate incident, a girl was killed and two others injured in an Israeli airstrike in central Gaza, specifically in the Deir el-Balah area. Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital confirmed the death but did not provide additional details. Meanwhile, another report indicated that two Palestinians were killed in a shooting incident near Han Yunis in southern Gaza, though this was attributed to gunfire rather than aerial attacks. The Israeli military claimed its operations targeted multiple locations in Gaza to neutralize threats to its forces. It emphasized that no Israeli soldiers were harmed during the attacks. However, Palestinian sources suggested that Israeli special forces might have engaged in direct combat with local militias or groups linked to Tel Aviv, although these claims remain unconfirmed by Israeli authorities. Since the implementation of the so-called ceasefire agreement in October 2025, Israel has reportedly killed at least 1,320 Palestinians and injured over 4,300 individuals.
