Inquest of man suspected to have killed son in murder-suicide adjourned

The inquest into the death of Wayne O’Reilly, a man suspected of murdering his 12-year-old son in a murder-suicide, has been adjourned. O’Reilly and his son were found dead separately on January 8th, with authorities believing he suffocated his son before taking his own life. O’Reilly, who was involved in a custody battle with his ex-partner, had access to his son under a shared custody arrangement. His brother identified his body at the scene, and the coroner noted that O’Reilly’s death was caused by hanging, based on a postmortem report. Both inquests into the men’s deaths were postponed to allow further Garda investigation.
