Another €65 million investment: a new gas well in the Adriatic

Inina has completed its first exploratory drilling operation in the northern Adriatic, marking a major milestone in its investment campaign worth approximately €65 million. The company announced the completion of the Ana-4 DIR well, which reached a depth of 1,282 meters, on Monday. This achievement is part of a broader initiative involving the construction of five new gas wells, one of which has already demonstrated a flow rate of around 160,000 cubic meters per day. The drilling took place on the existing exploitation field of Northern Adriatic, using the Labin drilling platform operated by Ina’s service company, Crosco. According to Ina, the operation was conducted without incidents, adhering strictly to the highest industry and engineering standards for health, safety, and environmental protection. During initial testing, three reservoirs were assessed, resulting in a combined gas flow of approximately 160,000 cubic meters per day. Current efforts are focused on preparing the well for connection to the surface production system to enable long-term testing. These tests aim to clean the reservoir, conduct detailed characterization of the production potential, and collect key data necessary for reserve reports. This successful completion of the first well represents a crucial step in the implementation of Ina's exploration drilling campaign. It confirms the remaining gas potential of approved fields that will be exploited in the coming years, thereby contributing to the security of gas supply in Croatia. Work on the drilling operations continues with preparations underway for the relocation of the Labin platform to the new location IKA JZ-6 DIR, where Ina plans to continue implementing its strategic drilling program. The company emphasized that this ongoing effort is vital for further exploration and resource assessment in the region. The project underscores Ina's commitment to expanding its hydrocarbon resources and enhancing energy independence. With the completion of the Ana-4 DIR well, the company is reinforcing its position as a key player in the Adriatic energy sector, leveraging advanced technologies and rigorous operational protocols to ensure sustainable and responsible extraction practices.
