Indonesia and China have established the Sino-Indonesian Shipbuilding Technology Academy (SISTA) at Diponegoro University in Semarang, Central Java, to enhance vocational education in the maritime sector. The initiative was formalized through a framework agreement signed on July 15 between Diponegoro University's Vocational School and three Chinese partners: Jiangsu Shipping College (JSSC), Zhongtian Technology Group Marine Engineering Co., Ltd., and the Nantong International Economic and Technical Cooperation Association (NTFEC). The academy aims to create a collaborative platform for universities, industries, and strategic partners from both nations to develop globally competitive maritime professionals. Additional agreements were signed between JSSC and Indonesian institutions such as the Indonesian State Maritime Polytechnic (Polimarin) and the Semarang Maritime Polytechnic (PIP), along with private companies. A joint international summer course involving over 100 students from the participating institutions also commenced alongside the academy's launch.
