Incident on the metro in the capital: passengers evacuated from a train after a technical problem

A metro train was taken out of service early Tuesday morning after a technical malfunction occurred at one of the access doors. For safety reasons, passengers were evacuated at the Tineretului station. Metrorex reported the incident occurred around 8:39 AM on Line 1, where the train signaled issues with an access door. Passengers were disembarked onto the platform, and the train was removed to the depot for inspection. The company stated that services resumed without problems, with passengers continuing their journey on another arriving train. The company apologized for the inconvenience caused. This incident follows similar technical disruptions recently, including a service interruption on the 1 Mai – Jiului section due to technical issues during interconnection work between Magistrala 4 and future Magistrala 6. Additionally, less than two weeks ago, smoke was detected at Piata Iancului station due to an electrical fire in a tunnel, leading to passenger evacuation.
