Inaugural ILCA Open India International Sailing Championship concludes in Hyderabad

The inaugural ILCA Open India International Sailing Championship, held as part of the Yachting Association of India’s 40th Hyderabad Sailing Week 2026, concluded in Hyderabad on July 18, 2026. The event took place at the EME Sailing Association (EMESA) on Hussainsagar Lake and featured 124 sailors, including 19 women and girls, from 19 sailing clubs and institutions. Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, Commandant of the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), presided over the closing ceremony and awarded prizes to the winners. The championship marked India’s first International ILCA Open Championship and highlighted EMESA’s longstanding contribution to promoting sailing in the country.
