IECM will hold days of citizen participation in Cuauhtémoc; it will start from August 16

The Institute of Electoral Affairs of Mexico City (IECM) has announced plans to hold three additional days of citizen participation activities in the Cuauhtémoc borough starting August 16th. This decision follows orders from the Electoral Tribunal of Mexico City (TECDMX), which mandated the election of the Community Participation Commission (Copaco) for 2026 and a participatory budgeting consultation for 2026 and 2027 in the Vista Alegre neighborhood. In San Simón Tolnahuac, there will be a repeat of the participatory budgeting election. These extraordinary sessions will take place using traditional methods at the Opinion Receiving Tables (MRO) between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. The opinions expressed during the early session held from April 20 to 30, 2026, including those submitted via the electronic system (SEI), through electronic devices provided by the electoral institute, and printed ballots, will remain valid. This action complies with the rulings issued by the local electoral tribunal in cases TECDMX-JEL-252/2026 and TECDMX-JEL-232/2026 after the resolutions became final and resolved related controversies. During the single-day event on May 3, 2026, incidents occurred in Vista Aq
