Croatian Forestry Institute invests almost 5 million euros in new laboratories

The Croatian Forestry Institute has begun implementing a project worth nearly 5 million euros to modernize its laboratories and facilities for conducting research. The project, which runs from February 16, 2026, to August 16, 2028, is primarily funded by non-repayable funds obtained through a loan from the World Bank under the 'Digital, Innovative, and Green Technologies' (DIGIT) project. Representatives from various institutions, including the Ministry of Science, Education, and Youth, the World Bank, and academic and industry organizations, attended the launch conference. The initiative aims to meet current needs and ensure a bright future for the forestry profession by creating conditions for high-quality work and the development of young researchers. This project continues the largest infrastructure investment in the institute's almost 80-year history, involving the construction of new laboratories and the renovation of existing buildings.
