"None of the top players will compete until September".

Following a memorable winter season in 2025/26, where Domen and Nika Prevc successfully won the large crystal globe and achieved many other top results, the new season of the Summer Grand Prix 2026 begins this week in Wisła, Poland. The event will feature individual competitions for both men and women on Saturday and Sunday. Slovenian team coaches Robert Hrgota and Jurij Tepeš have resumed training with their athletes after a short break. Several Slovenian athletes, including Lovro Kos, Rok Oblak, Žiga Jančar, and others, will compete at the event. Hrgota mentioned that they will skip some competitions with their top athletes, including Domen Prevc, Anže Lanišek, and Timi Zajc, before deciding on future plans. Tepeš noted that due to new rules introduced by the International Ski Federation (FIS), Slovenia will now aim to qualify more female athletes for World Cup events. However, despite being allowed to include an additional athlete at the Wisła and Courchevel events, the coaching staff decided not to change their strategy and instead provide opportunities for other athletes. As a result, Nika Prevc will not compete until September.
