Households to pay more for waste disposal from July 1

Singapore households will face higher waste disposal fees starting July 1, according to the National Environment Agency (NEA). The monthly charge for HDB flats and non-landed private housing will rise by 44 cents to $10.64, while landed homes will see an increase of $1.50 to $35.50. Both fees include 9% GST. The changes aim to ensure the sustainability of Singapore's waste management system, reflecting rising operational and labor costs. Eligible households can receive U-Save rebates under a permanent GST voucher scheme.
