Türkiye is set to participate in the third International Nuclear Science Olympiad, taking place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from August 2 to 9. This marks the country’s first competitive participation in the event, having previously attended as observers. The Turkish team consists of students from Istanbul Private Bahçeşehir Science and Technology High School, who were selected through a national competition involving 30 schools. The students underwent two days of practical training at the Nuclear Energy Research Institute (NÜKEN) under the Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Mineral Research Agency (TENMAK). The training covered topics such as atomic structure, radiation, fission, fusion, and nuclear technology applications. Students expressed confidence in their preparation and hopes for achieving success and bringing medals back to Türkiye.
