A high school football player in Arkansas encountered a bizarre and alarming situation during practice when he discovered a venomous snake inside his helmet. The incident occurred last week at Maumelle High School, located in Pulaski County, near Little Rock. The student, who has not been named, reported feeling unusual movement within his headgear during warmups and immediately alerted an assistant coach. Upon inspection, the coach found a two-foot-long cottonmouth snake concealed beneath the padding of the helmet. The snake, a type of pit viper known for its potent venom, remained hidden for much of the time the player wore the helmet, which lasted approximately an hour.
