Hacking forces Rionegro Firefighters to change their social networks: these are the new channels

The Volunteer Fire Department of Rionegro confirmed that their official social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram were hacked, forcing them to change their digital communication channels. The breach limited their ability to manage previous profiles securely and promptly. In a statement, the department explained that unauthorized access occurred and announced a transition to new official accounts on Instagram (@bomberosrionegroant) and Facebook (Hormiga bomberos Rionegro). They asked the community to follow these new accounts and report old ones to prevent misuse by third parties spreading false information or damaging the institution’s image. As part of the transition, they made a final post using Meta Business Suite to inform followers about the situation and direct them to the new profiles. Traditional contact methods such as their website, email, phone lines, and emergency numbers remain active during this period.
